To fans of General Hospital she will always be Brenda Barrett, a role she played for 6 years and won a daytime Emmy for. To fans of Beverly Hills 90210 she’ll always be Gina Kincaid and if the show Las Vegas had any fans to them she’d be Sam Marquez.
Life Story
Born and raised in Indio, California, Vanessa began performing in theatre until she was cast in the soap opera General Hospital. From there she would move on to Beverly Hills 90210, replacing the departing Tiffany Amber Thiessen who in turn had replaced the departing Shannen Doherty. In between television series she made her film debut in The Rock (1996).
In 2001 she was awarded the Sojourn Service award for her efforts to raise money and awareness for battered women. She went so far as to open a shelter for battered women and created a hotline for women looking to place their babies in a safe home.
Although she has been known to deny it, she was in fact married to Corey Feldman. She has a son with Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Brian Austin-Green, and was once engaged to Eva Longoria’s ex husband Tyler Christopher. She currently lives with screenwriter Ben Younger.
