Introduction
Telisha Shaw snared a childhood dream when she danced for the weight-roller coaster Janet Jackson. We must wonder if her dream was to also star in a film that was titled via text message...if so, mission accomplished again as she is starring in the upcoming Step Up 2 the Streets.
Life Story
Telisha Shaw was born on October 4, 1983 in Germantown, Tennessee, a suburb of misquito-ridden Memphis. She began studying ballet at the age of three and later received a scholarship to the Dance Theatre of Harlem under the direction of Arthur Mitchell. For all you ballet fans out there. In 2000, she moved to Los Angeles to become a professional dancer and to concentrate on her acting career. Telisha made her film debut in the crime thriller Dirty as the young, drug-addicted girlfriend of Cuba Gooding, Jr. We're wondering how dirty Dirty is, so it's now number one in our NetFlix queue.
Telisha then landed guest appearances on "Weeds", "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", "Campus Ladies", and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip", so she obviously was sticking to shows involving or related to drugs in some way. She is currently shooting Step Up 2 The Streets. Telisha first drew strong attention as dancer and assistant choreographer on Christina Aguilera’s Stripped world tour. She has since given her dance abilities to some of today’s other top artists such as Beyoncé, Green Day, Kanye West, and Shania Twain, who we all know is big into hip-hop.
