INTRODUCTION
Though best known for her role as Ashley on the popular series, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Tatyana Ali, has continued to act (to some peoples surprise), has not gotten arrested for drugs, has not had any children with loser men, and has launched a music career.
LIFE STORY
She was born in Long Island to a Panamanian Nurse and a Trinidad and Tobago police detective and went on to graduate with a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Harvard University.
Starting to sing at a very young age, Ali appeared with Herbie Hancock on an episode of Sesame Street and won the Star Search television contest two times. Her breakthrough came when she was cast in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She sang on various episodes of the show.
She released her first album, Kiss The Sky, which was certified gold in early 1999 and is preparing for the release of her second in between her acting work on the film Glory Road and starred in the music video for Nick Cannon and Anthony Hamilton's "Can I Live?" as Cannon's mother.
