Introduction
Tanika Ray was born in the nation's capitol in 1972. She is most famous for being the host of the entertainment show "Extra", along with Mark McGrath and Dayna Devon. She has also been a guest host on "The View", sitting in the chair vacated by Star Jones and Rosie O'Donell, making the show much hotter.
Life Story
Before her career as a host extraordinaire, she graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta with a degree in arts and also attended New York University where she studied theatre. She started off her entertainment career as a backup dancer for Will Smith and Brandi. She then made guest appearances on shows like "Lois and Clark" and "NYPD Blue."
Her hosting career began on the Lifetime Network, hosting a makeover show called "Head 2 Toe" and a fashion and entertainment show called "Lifetime Now." She also hosted shows on the SOAPnet TV network called "Soap Center" and "Soap News Update."
She's also done a fair shair of charity events. She hosted Petra Nemcova's "Light of Hope" benefit for the Tsunami and has also raised money for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. She is also involved with the Black Retail Action Group and hosts their annual gala. She is also hosting a new show called CW Now.
