Introduction
With her strong German features, and amazing atheletic ability, Steffi Graf can be quite intimidating. Hot, but intimidating.
Life Story
Steffi Graf began playing tennis at the age of three. At 13, Steffi became the second youngest player ever to earn International ranking. She won both the German and European Juniors and turned pro in 1982. She defeated Chris Evert at the Family Circle Cup in 1986, winning her first pro title. In 1988, Steffi won the Grand Slam. She also won the Olympic gold medal in 1988 in tennis singles. <br
In 1993, Graf was facing Monica Seles in the Hamburg Open when a fan came out of the stands and stabbed Seles in the back. It was later found that the stand was a fan of Graf's and had thought to take Seles out so that Graf could regain her #1 ranking. There has been much speculation about how this incident affected Graf's game. But in 1993, in Seles's absence, Graf went on to win 3 of 4 Grand Slam events to re-establish herself as a dominant women's player.
Steffi retired in 1999 with many accomplishments. She has won 107 singles titles and 11 doubles titles. She has 22 Grand Slam titles. She has won 7 Wimbledon singles, 6 French Open singles, 5 US Open singles and 4 Australian Open singles titles. She is the only player to have won singles titles at each Grand Slam event. She is also the only player to have achieved a Calendar Year Grand Slam on all three court surfaces.
In 2001, Graf married tennis player Andre Agassi. They have two children, son Jaden Gil and daughter Jaz Elle. Graf was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in 2004.
