Life Story
Rachel Blanchard saw her career launched with a part in a McDonald's commercial, and as an eight-year-old on the Canadian children's show The Kids of Degrassi Street. Blanchard is probably best known for playing the part of Cher Horowitz (originally portrayed by Alicia Silverstone) on the television series Clueless based on the 1995 movie Clueless, bases on millions of young girls who lost their I.Q.'s during puberty, based on all girls (just kidding). Who didn't see this remake coming?
Throughout her career she has shown range and character, from her grand performance in the laugh-out-loud comedy The Rage: Carrie 2, to her critically aclaimed spot in the equally moving and realistic Snakes on a Plane. She has also shown her dramatic side in the heartrenching dramas Road Trip and Without a Paddle, both of which are must sees for people who have nothing better to do.
She also played Sally on HBO's hilarious series, Flight of the Concords, about a two-man New Zealand band with no fans. In her role she uses her sex appeal to make both the guys fall in love with her. It was a truly challenging role.
