Though actress Piper Perabo was born on Halloween, the only thing scary about her is how painfully beautiful she is. She may not be as huge a star yet as people predicted a few years ago but she’s loveable all the same.
Life Story
Piper is another in a long line of great things coming from Texas, (like barbeque, high school football and The Geto Boys). Her all American good looks come from rather exotic origins as her father is Portuguese and her mother is Norweigan. She graduated from Toms River North High School. Also, she graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University where she majored in Theater Arts.
Not getting the memo that your twenties are supposed to be spent slaving in dead-end office jobs, she was cast Piper came to national attention after starring in Coyote Ugly (Tyra Banks, Maria Bello). Men around the world prayed for something that combined Showgirls and Cheers. Unfortunately, it wound up being like if Flashdance (Jennifer Beals) as written by an 11 year old girl. Quality aside, the movie showed that Piper is a lovely girl with a lot of talent.
Since then, she’s left the world of dancing bartender movies behind and starred in some higher quality fare. She received rave reviews for Lost and Delirious Mischa Barton where she played a boarding school student having a passionate lesbian love affair with her friend. The film is a wonderful examination of teen love and homophobia but more uncouth guys will rent it for its explicit love scenes between her and another girl.
