Introduction
Growing up with two boy names didn’t stop this Baltimorian transplanted in Mississippi from succeeding. Growing up in Mississippi also didn’t stand in her way. For that matter, she didn’t even let Scream 3 stop her from continued success.
Life story
Born in Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 1 day, Parker Posey’s parents soon moved her and her twin brother to Greenwood, Mississippi. Her childhood was busy with things that most Mississippi children are busy with: sweating and swatting mosquitoes. She attended SUNY at Purchase where she roomed with and outacted “ER” actress Sherry Stringfield. After getting her break on daytime soaps, Parker scored her first major role in the stoner classic Dazed and Confused, where she starred alongside fellow smokin’ hotties Joey Lauren Adams and Milla Jovovich. A string of critically acclaimed and no-money-making independent films followed, earning Parker the moniker ‘Queen of the Indies’. This name prompted much confusion in the British West Indies with many citizens unaware there had been an election.
After dating actor Stuart Townsend, who rebounded to Charlize Theron, Parker coupled up with singer Ryan Adams, best know for his love ballad to her place of residence. She continued working with the ‘Christopher Guest’ crew and even picked up playing the mandolin for one of those films. Therapy was scheduled to try and kick her mandolin habit, but filming on Superman Returns delayed the sessions. She currently lives in the Ryan Adams’s titled "New York, New York" with her dog, Gracie.
Stuff she’s done, ie: movies, tv, albums:
You've Got Mail, Superman Returns, Dazed and Confused, Best in Show, Blade III, The O in Ohio, The Return of Jezebel James, Josie and the Pussycats, Fay Grim, A Mighty Wind, The House of Yes, Waiting for Guffman, Party Girl (book), Party Girl
