Michael is one of a very few woman using that name in Hollywood. She has been nominated for several awards (but did not win any of them) incuding a couple of SAG awards when she was part of the ensemble cast of ER, and a Teen Choice Award for the Best Villian for her role in How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
Michael was cast a couple of times in Eddie Murphy flicks, but filed a sexual harassment suit against him and withdrew from both Coming to America and Harlem Nights.
Michael has two children with her husband, who is a restaurant owner in New York, New York.
