Introduction
Mei Melancon pronounces her name "May" "Mel-lon-son", for those of you who are not cultured enough to know that. Melancon is also her mother's maiden name. What her father's maiden name is, is still a topic of great debate.
Life Story
Mei Melancon was born on March 3, 1980, in the Philippines but grew up mainly in the land of the Rising Sun. Her mother is of French heritage and her father is Japanese and Chinese, a formula that has created a cocktail of hotness. As a young girl she was fortunate to travel with her family to different countries in Asia and Europe, bypassing the uncultured US of A. At the age of 5, her mother started teaching her guitar and during school breaks she was part of a performance group that traveled and performed extensively throughout Asia. How far she traveled is unknown, but we're guessing it was within Asia. She also acted in school plays, her favorite being Hans Christian Andersons, "The Little Match Girl". She started leaning towards pursuing acting when her family settled in The States in her early teens.
While having a successful modeling career she began studying with various acting coaches in 2001. After notching roles in Rush Hour 2 and "Deadwood", she went on to star in the blockbuster X-Men: The Last Stand. Mei is also an avid writer and has practiced Wushu Kung Fu and enjoys playing the guitar. She currently resides in Los Angeles for all you stalkers out there.
