Maria McKee was originally the lead singer of US country rock group Lone Justice in the mid-80s. Her firey stage presence and great songwriting made her U2 her fans, offering the group as support slot on their tour.
The group split in 1988 and McKee went solo, offering a long lineage of critically acclaimed albums - Maria McKee, You Gotta Sin to Get Saved, Life is Sweet, High Life, Peddlin' Dreams and Late December - but is better known for writing Fergal Sharkey's UK#1 single 'A Good Heart' and contributing the UK#1 song 'Show Me Heaven' to the Tom Cruise-Nicole Kidman film 'Days of Thunder' and 'If Love is a Red Dress (Hang Me In Wrags)' to 'Pulp Fiction.'
