Named one of FHM’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World” in 2005, and one of Maxim ‘s “Hot 100” during that same year, Maggie Grace is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford on the television series Lost. Much like the way the show she’s on teases its viewers, Maggie teases her male fans in her bikinis and short shorts.

Maggie was born in Worthington, Ohio, and is the oldest of three children. She began acting at an early age, performing in local plays, including The Crucible. At 16, Maggie left Ohio with her mother, Valinn, and moved to Los Angeles. There, they struggled to pay rent until Maggie laded a role in 2001 on the web-serial Rachel’s Room. She appeared in 56 of these until breaking into television acting (and actually making enough money to stop eating dust bunnies and Top Ramen).

Maggie landed spots on CSI: Miami, Law & Order: SVU, and in a television movie with Tom Selleck, before getting her big break in 2004 when J.J. Abrams cast her in the pilot episode of Lost. While appearing on Lost, Maggie has also landed roles in feature films The Fog, Suburban Girl, and The Jane Austen Book Club. It was widely rumored that she had landed a role in X-Men: The Last Stand, but that proved to be false. This gave Maggie her first lesson in the all-important art of public humiliation. She said she didn’t even know she was being considered until reports came out in the papers.

Maggie will be working alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alec Baldwin in 2007. Hopefully she will avoid being clumsy on set and setting off Baldwin’s hair trigger temper. As we all learned in ’07, Alec “You Little Pig” Baldwin doesn’t have a high tolerance for mistakes.

Stuff she’s done, ie: movies, tv, albums:

Lost, Cold Case, The Fog, Taken, The Jane Austen Book Club, Law & Order SVU
