Linda Evangelista is the first, and arguably the finest supermodels on the planet.
Life Story
Along with Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell, Linda Evagelista helped usher in Supermodel manio in the 1990s. After signing with Elite Modeling Agency in New York, Evangelista's career skyrocketed, thanks to her exquiste bueaty and a few music videos she made with George Michael, including "Freedom." With pals Naomi Camble and Christy Turlington, she formed an unoffical model-union, and helped up-and-coming models get the benefits and pay checks they deserve. In a now infamous interview in a 1990 issue of Vouge, she bragged about her work saying, "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day."
In 1996, Evangleista received the lifetime achievement award at the VHI Fashion Awards, and she was voted the second hottest model of the ninties, behind Cindy Crawford, by MTV. She even has a star on the Candian Walk of Fame in Toronto. She is also an AIDS and breast cancer activist, and she was honored for her world in 2005 by the AID for AIDS charity organization.
