INTRODUCTION
Lauren Ambrose is of Italian descent even though she looks whiter than an Irishwoman. That lack of tan helped her nab her most famous role as Claire in HBO's Six Feet Under, a show about death, and it is well documented that death can not be discussed in a show where the characters have tans (see Jennifer Love Hewitt in the Ghost Whisperer).
LIFE STORY
Educated in the arts of acting and opera, Ambrose's first film role was In & Out with Kevin Kline about a teacher who doesn't realize he is gay until he is supposed to marry the female version of John Cusack, Joan Cusack (she could turn anyone gay) and was followed by the cult classic Can't Hardly Wait where she slept with Seth Green a couple of times (slut) and Jennifer Love Hewitt makes out with her cousin. She then stepped it up in the cult favorite Psycho Beach Party before beginning her role on Six Feet Under in early 2001.
She was nominated for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Emmy Award twice, following the 2002 and 2003 seasons of the critically-acclaimed drama but never won. In 2002 she lost to Stockard Channing of the West Wing but nearly won a grievance on the basis that the gender of Stockard Channing is not really known. In 2003 she lost to Tyne Daly and decided not to lodge the same complaint (she didn't need the senior citizens after her when the transvestites were already hunting her down).
