Introduction
When most people leave high school, they either go to college or work at Best Buy. Not Kristin Kreuk. She went to an open casting call for a show called Edgemont. She landed the part, despite having no previous experience.
Life Story
This helped lead the way for her most famous role, as Clark Kent's gal pal Lana Lang on Smallville even though she was worried the role meant being a pretty cheerleader type. After reading the script, she was so impressed with the graveyard scene that she auditioned and got the role. Six years later, it's hard to imagine Smallville without her.
She later landed roles in Euro-Trip (Michelle Trachtenberg, Lucy Lawless) and the Sci-Fi Channel original miniseries Earthsea. Her acting career got the attention of ad execs, and Kruek became the spokesperson for Neutrogena, following in the footsteps of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mandy Moore.
Her next film role will be in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) where she'll play the title character.
In July of 2008, Kristin shocked her male and female fans alike by cutting off her long flowing locks. She stated on her blog: I am assuming there are a few of you who are wanting to murder me at this precise moment . . . Now, deep breaths, it will grow back at some point. And I think it is pretty darn cute. For three years I have been wanting to cut my hair. It’s been long for about 15 bloody years. Sigh . . .
