Introduction
The girl who was the brains behind the lyrics and sounds of some of the biggest albums of all time, is finally getting top billing. Though most people will recognize her from the Timbaland “The Way I Are” video, in which she is prominently featured, she has been a star in the music community for some time, writing music for the likes of Britney Spears, Ludacris, Jennifer Lopez and many other performers who are incapable of writing music.
Life Story
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Hilson was surrounded by Hip Hop from an early age. Her musical ability was noticed quickly, and she was introduced to Hip Hop Star Timbaland. Timbaland liked what he heard and signed Keri, who began writing for him as well as Usher, Mary J. Blige, and P. Diddy, to name a few. Unfortunately she was unable to also sing and rap for P. Diddy, and thus can’t be blamed for any of his albums.
Today Keri’s solo career is just beginning to take off, as she’s being promoted by Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group as a solo artist. Hilson’s first single will be “Henny and Apple Juice,” featuring Snoop Dogg, and will be produced by Polow Da Don, a champion of R & B acts, but an enemy of grammar.
