Introduction

Katharine Towne is a smoking hot actress and a daughter of Hollywood royalty who for some reason has been unable to breakthrough to major success in the film industry. Katharine is the daughter of Oscar-winning screenwriter/director Robert Towne (Chinatown) and Julie Payne, and granddaughter of actors John Payne and Anne Shirley. Apparently, being a third generation Hollywood hottie is no longer enough to get starring roles major films. (So can someone please explain Rumer Willis?)

Career

Towne's career began with a small role in the 1998 movie Girl (1998). She then appeared in Go (1999), She's All That (1999), But I'm a Cheerleader (1999), and The Bachelor (1999), as well as guest-starring as Sunday on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

In 2000, Towne starred as Riley on NBC's short-lived sitcom "M.Y.O.B." Since then she has appeared in a number of feature films, including The In Crowd (2000), What Lies Beneath (2000), Town & Country (2001), Mulholland Drive (2001), Evolution (2001), Something New (2006) and Blades of Glory (2007) where she played the role of Female Sex Addict. She also played a character called Erin in Sweet Home Alabama (2002) - her scenes didn't make the final cut, but were included on the film's DVD release. Towne played Mason on the HBO's series "Tell Me You Love Me." Next up are two more films: Blur (2008) and Amar (2008).

Personal Life

Towne was married to English actor Charlie Hunnam from 1999 to 2002. The pair met whilst auditioning for Dawson's Creek. They married after knowing each other only three weeks. They appeared together as an on-screen one night stand couple in the series "Undeclared" in 2001.
