Her Life in a Nutshell
Born in Pomona, California, to a Mexican-American father and French/Danish-American mother, Jessica knew at the age of five she wanted to act and began taking acting lessons at 12. In her first work as a pro, the 1994 movie Camp Nowhere, Jessica gained a larger part when a fellow cast member dropped out (thereby pulling herself out of Camp Nowhere). Soon she was doing national commercials (Nintendo, J.C. Penney) and playing a dolphin’s best friend in the TV show Flipper. After a couple of episodes on Beverly Hills, 90210, and the mean-girl part in Never Been Kissed with Drew Barrymore and Jordan Ladd, Alba’s no-looking-back moment came when James Cameron picked her to be his genetically engineered super-soldier on the Fox sci-fi series Dark Angel. It was arguably the wisest move of his career.
After a slight professional hiccup as a dancer in Honey, Alba struck sequel gold as scientist/superhero Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four and as stripper Nancy Callahan in the Sin City (with Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Brittany Murphy). She also got deep in the shallow Into The Blue (Ashley Scott). She stared in the Mike Myers-written comedy The Love Guru and still swearing she’ll never take all her clothes off for the camera, no matter how good the movie is.
Alba married boyfriend Cash Warren on May 19 2008 and on June 7, 2008 she gave birth to a baby girl, Honor Marie Warren.

Not just a pretty girl, Jessica studied acting at the Atlantic Theater Company with William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman, and is one of those rare actresses who has been working consistently ever since she got her start co-starring with Flipper the Dolphin.
