Introduction
The greatest thing to come out of Liverpool? Jennifer Ellison. A close second? The Beatles.
Life Story
Born in 1983, Jennifer began dance training at an early age, and in 1996 and 1997, she won the National Ballet and Modern Dance Championships, which are televised live on ESPN27. At 15, she abandoned her future in tutus to play Emily Shadwick on the British soap opera Brookside, and it wasn’t long before she started making the lad magazine rounds. At 16 she appeared scantily dressed in FHM under the highly appropriate headline/warning “Jailbait.” In 2004, no longer on Brookside, she played Meg Giry in Joel Schumacher’s film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, forming quite the hot-chick one-two punch with Emmy Rossum. (Minnie Driver was in it, too, and she’s not exactly chopped liver, sexiness-wise.)
Meanwhile, like some British-accented Hilary Duff, Jennifer has also been making pop music. Her first single, released in 2003 and called “Baby I Don’t Care,” reached number six on the UK charts. Her second single, “Bye Bye Boy,” reached number 13. (Do you see the pattern?) While some may argue that Jennifer is hurting her acting career by attempting the pop-princess thing, Jennifer has said, “I have to follow my heart”—and clearly, the girl has a huge heart.
Coming up, you can find Jennifer in the horror film/dark comedy The Cottage, and you can bet she’ll be singing, dancing, acting and appearing in more magazines in the future. We can’t wait to see them. (The magazines, that is. What did you think we meant?)
