Introduction

Watchers of The CW's One Tree Hill or MTV know Hilarie Burton well. 9 out of 10 scientists agree: anything with Burton in it, instantly makes it over 17% hotter.

Life Story

Burton was born in Sterling, Virgina to a father who was an antique collector and a real estate agent mother. Growing up, Burton had a passion for acting. A passion she decided to pursue after graduating high school. She went to New York University to study acting, and wound up with a better gig. After winning a guest spot to interview on the red carpet for MTV, Burton impressed and was given a full time job. Ironically, while growing up in Virginia, Burton was not allowed to watch MTV. In 2002, Burton made a guest appearance on Dawson's Creek as a VJ.

In 2003, Burton landed the role that would ultimately lead to her fame: cheerleader Peyton Sawyer on The CW's basketball drama One Tree Hill. After getting the role, Burton would spend Monday through Thursday filming the show (which films in North Carolina), and then Fridays working at MTV. Eventually she gave up the MTV gig. Burton is mostly kept busy with One Tree Hill, but has still found time to act in several movies, including The List, Normal Adolescent Behavior, and the upcoming Solstice. Recently, Burton appeared in a music video for the band Jack's Mannequin, for the song The Mixed Tape. In 2004, Burton appeared on the cover of American Cheerleader magazine, something that is considered a highlight in any person's career.
