Eri Kamei (born December 23, 1988 in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese pop singer and member of the Hello! Project mothership group Morning Musume. Kamei joined the group in January 2003 as a member of the sixth generation. And let's get this straight: Eri is weird. She enjoys corners, eating seven or eight bananas for energy, and crowded trains. She also dresses up like a man and shakes maracas while trying to sell you something. Do you love her yet?
Career
Kamei was selected from the Morning Musume LOVE Audition 2002 to join Morning Musume as part of the sixth generation. Though this happened in January of 2003, Kamei did not make her debut until August 2003 on Morning Musume's 19th single, "Shabondama." She released her first album with the group, Ai no Dai 6 Kan in December 2004.
During her first year in the group, Morning Musume was split in two: Otomegumi and Sakuragumi. Kamei was placed in Sakuragumi, and released two singles with the group before they went on hiatus.
