Biography

Introduction:

James was born in Chicago, illionois and was raised in Los Angeles by his Cambodian/Chineese parents who ran their own restaurant and used car dealership. in his teen years he was forced to move in with his aunt in houston texas be cause his mother found out he is in the notorious Bloods Gang. In Elementry, he became fascinated with hip-hop music and dreamed of becoming a professional rapper. He was inspired by artists such as Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, The Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J, Jay-Z, 2Pac and other rappers from the early 1990s, an era now referred to as The Golden Age. When first taking up rapping, he struggled with the form of music but with much practice he realized he had a talent for freestyle rap. He soon began performing for his classmates, co-workers and whoever would listen. James began entering freestyle battles in local hip-hop clubs where he was usually the only Asian around. He was often underestimated due to his ethnicity. James's talent won crowds over, and he went on to win many battles. He quickly developed a reputation as Houston's most clever freestyler. But in the hip-hop world, Houston was not known for his field in music than clever lyrics. He knew this would be another obstacle to overcome in order to gain acceptance.

After not getting a chance in the hip hop wrold because of his ethnicity for a couple of years James landed a deal with a major record company's. Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. they added James as one of four artists that are being promoted in the new deal that is called the Def Jam's 8-Figures on 2008 Newcomers. Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records signed these four artists to promote their music, James being the top of the four. James has already gone to work with his next album and plans to release it on the label by 2009.

James Huynh is also known in the drifting wrold. After buying a 1998 Toyota Chaser James became heavily involved in the east coast drifting scene. By the age of 17 he helped run the first regularly schedule East Coast Drift events. He was 19 when Drifting Streets announced they were coming to America for a drivers search so he packed up his Toyota Chaser on a flatbed rental truck and drove 1,700 miles to California. James later became the Asian/American Driver for VIP Auto's in Miami Florida.

In 2003 Racing Street debuted their first ever Street Racing drifting series (aka) Drifting Streets and James began competing. After three years of competition, he built a reputation for his high speed precision driving skills, and became a major supporter of the drift community worldwide.
