Introduction
George W. Bush has made some questionable calls during his presidency, but one that nobody is complaining about is giving the job of White House Press Secretary to the gorgeous Dana Perino.
Life Story
Perino was born in Wyoming, but grew up in Denver. She went to college at Colorado State University - Pueblo, where she majored in Mass Communication and minored in Political Science and Spanish. While in college, Perino did work on Pueblo's local PBS affiliate hosting and producing several different shows. After CSU - Pueblo, Perino went to grad school in Illinois. With grad school out of the way, and a Master's Degree in Public Affairs in hand, Perino went to Washington D.C to work as a staff assistant for Colorado Republican Senator Scott McInnis. When McInnis retired, she got her first taste of Press Secretary-dom when she worked for Dan Schaefer, a Colorado representative. When Schaefer retired, Perino fell in love with an Englishman 18 years older than her, named Peter McMahon, and married him. For a year they lived in England before returning to the U.S.
Upon her return to the U.S, Perino lived in San Diegor for several years and kept her nose out of politics, working for high-tech companies in the area. In 2001, however, Perino pulled a Michael Jordan and came back to play in Washington. At first, she worked as a spokesperson for the Justice Department. After several months in that job, Perino was promoted to Director of Communications for the White House Council on Environmental Quality. She held that job for several years before being promoted yet again in March of 2006, this time to Deputy Press Secretary. After former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow's bout with colon cancer, Perino was named White House Press Secretary in August 2007.
Because Perino's husband is 18 years older, he has kids from a previous marriage. And grandkids, which technically makes Perino the hottest step-grandma in America.
