Cynthia Nixon is a Tony and Emmy Award-winning American actress who is best known for her portrayal of lawyer Miranda Hobbes in the popular HBO comedy-drama Sex and the City (1998–2004). She reprised her role for the 2008 movie based on the series.
In 2008, she got an Emmy nomination in the Guest Actress in a Drama Series category for her work on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".
