Introduction
There are far too few redheads in Hollywood. Blondes and brunettes are omnipresent, but gingers are few and far between. Luckily, Amy Adams has come to level the playing field. It's a war of attrition however as every insatiable film by Adams barely puts a dent in the debt to society gingers owe thanks to the likes of Kirsten Dunst.
Life story
Amy, an army brat, was born on an American military base in Italy. Her family then moved to Colorado where she lived a shockingly normal life (for an actress, anyway). She worked at Hooters but quit when she was forced to start wearing the uniform. Though we regret not being able to see her in it, Amy deserves to be commended for her integrity. A producer spotted her at a local dinner theater, and her career began in earnest.
Her first role was in the film Drop Dead Gorgeous (Kirsten Dunst, Denise Richards, Brittany Murphy). From there, she had parts in the film Catch Me If You Can (Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Garner, Ellen Pompeo) and the show Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Eliza Dushku). Her career really took off with the independent feature Junebug (2005). Her portrayal as Southern chatterbox earned her numerous awards and even a nomination for an Oscar. With her roles in Charlie Wilson’s War (Julia Roberts) and the Disney film Enchanted (Susan Sarandon), Amy clearly has the potential to be a major force in the acting world. Redheads rejoice! Dunst, start arming yourself with more sequels.
