Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Amy studied ballet for 13 years before a knee injury ended that nonsense. She enrolled at Southern Methodist University and began taking acting classes because why take physics or something useful when you can just play make believe?
Career
She landed a pilot for MTV (in your face Stephen Hawking) and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. The pilot wasn’t picked up but she hung around and scored roles in some independent features. Her big break came when she read for a part on "Angel" (Charisma Carpenter, Julie Benz). She quickly became a series regular and her good looks and charm won over the men who watched that show.
Since then she has appeared on "Alias" (Jennifer Garner) and was a regular on the short lived series "Drive" (Taryn Manning).
