Introduction
Since 1993, Alison Sweeney has made daytime TV sizzle with her role as Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives. Not like we watch it or anything, dude! Seriously, our mom used to watch it!
Life Story
Sweeney was born in Pasadena, California. Her house was a musical one, as her mother was an accomplished violinist. As a youth, Sweeney showed considerable talent as an actress and made her acting debut in a Kodak commercial at the tender age of 5. In her teen years, Sweeney had gigs doing guest spots on shows like St. Elsewhere and Webster. She also did a six episode stint on While she was still in high school, Sweeney landed a role that she still portrays to this day: Sami Brady on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. Her date to the senior prom was Brian Datillo, her co-star on the show.
Though she's been on Days of Our Life for the past 14 years, Sweeney has found time to do other gigs too. In 2001, she did a guest spot on Friends and in 2004 she did one on American Dreams and Las Vegas. Sweeney is also an avid poker player, she's been on numerous celebrity poker shows. She is also currently the host of The Biggest Loser. Sweeney married a California State Trooper named David Sanov in 2000, and together they had their first child in 2005. Currently, she is playing the great-aunt of her character on Days of Our Lives as well as her normal one.
