Life Story
Alexa Davalos was born in Paris, France but was raised mostly in New York City. She comes from a long line of performers. Her mother is an actress, and her grandfather is Richard Davalos who acted alongside James Dean in the seminal East of Eden. As a youngster, Davalos was a dedicated ballerina but acting is where her heart was. As a teen she did a lot of commercial work, but in 2002 she decided to act full time. She made her first TV appearance in an episode of the vastly underrated show Undeclared and her first film role was a starring one in the indie movie The Ghost of F. Scott Fitzgerald. In the movie she plays a college student who has an obsession with the late writer. In 2003 Davalos had one of the few female roles in the HBO movie And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself. She also did a three episode guest spot on the vampire show Angel. 2004 saw Davalos make her big screen debut in The Chronicles of Riddick, which co-starred Vin Diesel.
In 2005, Davalos played Samantha Carlton on the murder mystery show Reunion, but the show only lasted 12 episodes. In 2006, Davalos co-starred with Diane Keaton in the TV movie Surrender Dorothy. Recently, Davalos did a pilot for a show called Raines, and appeared in the horror flick The Mist. Currently, she is filming a movie called Defiance which is set to be released in 2008.
