Life Story
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Yamila Diaz was studying Economics in her home country of Argentina before she became a supermodel. While traveling in Uruguay, she was discovered by a talent scout, and was signed to a Milan modeling agency in 1996. By 1999 she was included in the popular Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendar, and in 2001 made the cover of the Swimsuit Issue. Since then, she has appeared on the covers of GQ, Maxim, Elle, Shape, Glamour and Cosmopolitan, just to name a few.
She has also appearedin the Victoria's Secret catalog and in print ads for bebe. She was even the first Latina spokesperson for CoverGirl cosmetics. She has also appeared in the Italian feature film Love of the Fishes.
But this beauty also has brains. The former economics major now studies English and Italian, and in her spare time, she loves to read Brazilian literature. She currently lives in Manhattan.
