Introduction
Actress Rose McGowen was born in Florence, Italy to American parents that ran a chapter of the religious movement, i.e. cult, known as Children of God. She grew up in their communes all over Europe. She spoke no English when she moved with her father to Washington State at age 10. She was fluent in English 5 years later when she legally emancipated herself from her parents.
Life Story
Her first role was in the Pauley Shore classic Encino Man (1992) but her break out performance came as “Amy Blue” in The Doom Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination, a role that Jordan Ladd was originally slated to play. She teamed up with screen legend Pauley Shore once more in Bio Dome (1996) then went famously blonde in Scream (1996). She was nominated for an MTV movie award for her role in Jawbreaker (1999) and in 2002 she joined Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano on “Charmed” replacing Shannen Doherty’s powers of telekinesis with her own. Most recently she starred as “Cherry Darling,” a machine gun wielding, zombie killing, pole dancer in the Planet Terror half of Grind House (2006).
She made headlines when she accompanied then boyfriend Marilyn Manson to the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards in a chain mail dress which covered about 1% of her body.
She then caused a ruckus when her ass-jiggling and short skirts single-buttocksly postponed Sin City 2. Apparently he made her too hot in the film and loved her badass goth personality too much. Her onset affair with him ended his marriage with the Avellan twins' aunt, who happened to finance the Sin City films. But that ass is worth it for him (not so much for us). She is currently engaged to cowboy hat wearing, director Robert Rodriguez.
