Introduction
Many pundits of female hotness would argue that Eva Longoria is, pound for pound, one of the hottest woman on the planet. The towering, 5’2” Latin beauty became a household name thanks to Desperate Housewives series - or perhaps Desperate Housewives become a household name thanks to her! Voted #29 in the AskMen.com's Top 99 Women 2008 Edition.
Life Story
Raised on a farm in Corpus Christi, Texas, by Mexican-American parents, Eva was teased by her three older sisters as a child for being dark-skinned and ugly. Either they were bad judges of appearance or Eva really turned things around, because in 1998 she was crowned Miss Corpus Christi. After graduating from Texas A&M-Kingsville with a bachelor’s in kinesiology—which is the study of anatomy and, ahem, body movement—Eva moved to Los Angeles and started earning small parts on shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 (as a flight attendant) and General Hospital. In 2001, she began a two-year stint as the disturbed ex-prostitute Isabella Braña Williams on The Young and the Restless, which led to series-regular status on the short-lived Dragnet and, finally, her breakout role as ex-model Gabrielle Solis on the overnight sensation Desperate Housewives (Teri Hatcher, Nicollette Sheridan).
Movie-wise, in 2005 Eva starred with Christian Bale and Tammy Trull in Harsh Times (we don’t remember it either), and in 2006 she played a pint-sized FBI agent in The Sentinel (Kim Basinger). That same year, she appeared in one of our favorite music videos, Jessica Simpson’s “A Public Affair,” along with Christina Milian, Christina Applegate and Maria Menounos. (MTV has come a long way from Devo.)
These days, Eva enjoys spending time back in Texas with her second husband, French-born San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, whom she wedded in Paris in summer 2007. (You might have heard about it.) She’s also got a new restaurant in L.A., Beso (which means “kiss” in Spanish), and she’ll be furthering her film career in 2008 with Over My Dead Body (Lake Bell, Lindsay Sloane) and the computer-animated Foodfight! (Hilary Duff, Haylie Duff)—though, to be honest, we think a computer-generated movie with someone as sexy as Eva might be a waste of resources.
