Introduction
Singer-actress Christina Milian has been hovering in the “almost famous” zone for well over three years. However, she, much like David Hasselhoff and socialized medicine, is way more popular overseas than in her home country.
Life Story
Born to a Cuban family in New Jersey, she moved out to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Ironically, she found her initial success in the world of music. She co-wrote the hit song “Play” for Jennifer Lopez’s debut album, and her own debut record of R&B-tinged pop wasn’t released in the U.S. but did decently internationally. Her second album actually came out in the U.S. and produced the minor hits “Dip It Low” and “Whatever You Want”. The video for “Dip It Low” is fondly remembered for showing her drenched in black paint and being dragged along a canvas like a human brush. It managed the rare feat of being simultaneously hot and bizarre.
Her movie career took off with roles in Be Cool starring the eternally hot (and tall) Uma Thurman. She also starred along with Monica Keenan and Kelli Garner in the Tommy Lee Jones’s cheerleading flick Man of The House. Still, she’s waiting for the acting role (or song) that will take her into the stratosphere. Let’s hope this happen.
