Life Story
Actress Brittany Murphy's wild side may come from her father, who was arrested and sent to prison for racketeering after he and Murphy's mom divorced. Brittany's love of acting came early and by the time she was thirteen, she was singing and performing on stage.
She also had small roles on TV shows such as Almost Home and Drexell's Class, but you may not have recognized her. Before her transformation into a hottie, Murphy was a somewhat average looking young actress as seen in the hit film Clueless with Alicia Silverstone in 1995. Murphy also played nutty characters in films such as Girl Interupted with Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie and in the creepy thriller Don't Say a Word where she uttered the memorable line, "I'll nev-er tell…".
It was around this time the average-looking Murphy blossomed into a bona fide babe with films such as Summer Catch with Jessica Biel and the Eminem film 8 Mile. She also co-starred in the visually stunning film Sin City with Jessica Alba, Jaime King, Carla Gugino, Rosario Dawson and Alexis Bledel. Rumor has it, she will reprise her role of Shellie for Sin City 2.
Murphy has also leant her voice to the hit show King of the Hill and Futurama. Her next film will be The Ramen Girl in 2008. She is also working on her debut album.
