Life Story
Brandy was born in McComb, Mississippi and has two younger siblings. Her brother, Ray "Sextape" J, staged a pornographic video with Kim Kardashian in a weak attempt to jump start her fledgling career. Brandy's parents moved the family to California when she was 4 years old with the hopes of landing careers in show business.
Career
Her first album, Brandy, released when she was just 15 years old, sold more than 4 million copies and was certified quadruple platinum. Her second album, Never Say Never, sold more than 14 million copies and earned her 5 Grammy nominations. "The Boy is Mine", her duet with Monica reached number 1 on the charts and was one of the most popular singles of the year (1998). As an actress she has starred in her own television show, the very popular "Moesha", had a role in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer(Jennifer Love Hewitt) and lent her voice to the animated film Osmosis Jones.
She is an accomplished songwriter, having penned hits for Toni Braxton, Kelly Rowland and Tarralyn Ramsey and was a judge on the very hard to watch "America's Got Talent".
Car Accident
On December 30, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., Brandy struck another vehicle from behind on Interstate 405, a Los Angeles freeway, while driving her 2007 Land Rover at 65 mph, causing a chain reaction involving a total of four vehicles, including hers. The car she hit, a 2005 Toyota Corolla, hit another car, and then crossed into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by the fourth vehicle. The driver of the Toyota, a married mother of two, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in critical condition and died the next day. Brandy was not injured and was not arrested, and there was no evidence that drugs or alcohol were involved. The family of the victim filed a $50 million wrongful death suit against her. The outcome is still pending, but from the way she drives we all pretty much know she was talking the phone not giving a damn about traffic or the conditions on the road.
